Cord blood banks are on the rise

When you read the news you have noticed that there are several new topics about cord blood banking. This is good news for those who may be suffering from a terminal illness that may be treatable with stem cells. Because the umbilical cord is still in research was able to cure a disease still has a slim chance but it is a possibility that more and more people are taking.

Oklahoma that a Bill was passed that would allow a public umbilical cord blood bank in Oklahoma. Early families who have children in Oklahoma will have the opportunity to donate or Bank the umbilical cord after the baby is born.

Vancouver is waiting for approval in June to begin a cord blood bank. Québec is currently the only cord blood bank public but that could change soon.   Indiana is trying to open a bank the cord blood as well. This will allow cord blood to be an option for mothers in the State.

Currently there are still countries which do not offer cord blood as an option. Hopefully that will change in the future and everyone will have a chance to save his cord blood or donate it to save someone else.
